Important details to consider

  • Sales of the Galaxy S26 series increased by 29% in the U.S. during the first three weeks compared to the previous year.
  • The Galaxy S26 Ultra was responsible for 71% of the sales, as consumers favored the high-end model this year.
  • Increased pricing of the S26 and S26 Plus led more customers to select the Ultra variant instead.

In spite of discussions regarding a sluggish smartphone market and escalating prices, it appears that Samsung has succeeded with the Galaxy S26 series, as sales figures have been robust for the brand.

As detailed in a report from Counterpoint Research, sales of the Galaxy S26 series in the U.S. surged by 29% in the first three weeks compared to the Galaxy S25 series during the same time last year. Of that increase, the Galaxy S26 Ultra alone made up 71% of the overall sales, which represents about 10% more than the share of the Galaxy S25 Ultra from last year.

The findings indicate that more customers are opting for the Ultra model this time around, partly due to the price hikes on the standard Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26 Plus. Samsung elevated the prices of those models by $100, while maintaining the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s pricing from last year, which likely encouraged more users to opt for the premium choice.
