In recent years, apps like Google’s NotebookLM, Hero, and Adobe Acrobat have enabled users to create podcasts from existing content such as documents and articles. Spotify now allows these podcasts to be accessed within its app, but requires some programming tools.
Spotify announced that users familiar with tools like OpenAI’s Codex, Anthropic’s Claude Code, or OpenClaw can use Spotify’s beta CLI tool to create and import podcasts into Spotify for later listening.
“People are beginning to use their agents to create personal audio guides: from class note summaries to calendar briefings. They want to listen to these on Spotify,” the company stated in a blog post.
Podcasts will be saved in the user’s Spotify library but are not available to other users.
To utilize this feature, users should visit the tool’s GitHub page and follow the instructions. They’ll need to log into their Spotify accounts via a browser.
Afterwards, users can request their agent to generate a podcast on topics such as the history of the World Cup and save it to Spotify. They will receive a link to their Spotify podcast listing.
