The “Star Wars” franchise may not boast the highest precision in scientific representation, yet a segment of its technology has transcended mere imagination. Indeed, the narratives from an extraordinary past in a distant galaxy may not showcase as detailed technology as its rival “Star Trek,” but some concepts are surprisingly recognizable. Ranging from holographic displays to land speeders, we are really close to a reality where ideas once relegated to science fiction now resonate.
From a technological perspective, we are even a step ahead in various instances. There’s considerable discussion surrounding the existence of paper in the “Star Wars” realm — notably, there was never a moment depicted where an Imperial officer filed documentation following the destruction of the Death Star. However, in reality, significant progress has been achieved towards replicating “Star Wars” advancements, with the creator of the YouTube channel Hacksmith even crafting a 4,000-degree plasma-powered “lightsaber” of his own.

As of now, no one else has successfully created anything resembling this, so we’re not officially adding Hacksmith’s garage-assembled lightsaber to our compilation. Yet, with the swift evolution of modern technology, it won’t be long before we see genuine references to an actual X-Wing or plasma blaster included.
