The third edition of the Grand Duchy’s flagship tech summit occurs on June 10–11, just weeks before the EU AI Act’s significant provisions come into effect. Here’s an overview of the event and its unique significance this year.

With a population smaller than Manchester’s but a significant role in European finance, Luxembourg has also been quietly creating its mark in the tech world. Its digital sovereignty strategy aims to enhance data, AI, and quantum capabilities by 2030. The country hosts over 810 active startups, more than 240 of which use AI extensively.

Key elements include the MeluXina supercomputer and Tier IV data centers. The event marks its third annual occurrence this June.

On June 10 and 11, 2026, Nexus Luxembourg will be held at Luxexpo The Box for its third edition. This two-day summit has quickly become a notable AI and tech event in Europe. Organized by The Dots and Paperjam, this year’s summit will span 13,500 square meters, feature five conference stages, and host over 150 speakers. More than 10,000 attendees from over 50 countries are expected.

The 2026 summit will offer a “4-in-1” experience with four curated tracks running simultaneously.

The Intelligence Forum centers on applied AI, autonomous systems, cybersecurity, sovereignty, and productivity tools. The Fintech Sphere gathers financial services experts, founders, and regulators to discuss the future of European finance, aligning with Luxembourg’s strong fintech sector.

The Launchpad Arena features a startup competition. The fourth track, Luxembourg Makes It Happen, is where institutions, EU policymakers, national champions, and keynote speakers convene.

This structure is designed to appeal to senior decision-makers who prefer focused interactions rather than sprawling conferences. Nexus Luxembourg seeks to fulfill that need.

The €100,000 prize, in detail

The Nexus Luxembourg Awards is the highlight of the Launchpad Arena. This year, 250 startups and scaleups are competing in 10 categories for a €100,000 prize. The prize includes €25,000 in cash and €75,000 in business services like workspace, consultancy, and media exposure, signaling a commitment to embedding winners in the local ecosystem rather than a mere financial reward.

The categories reflect current European tech investment trends: cybersecurity, fintech, digital finance, govtech, digital society, green and climate tech, healthtech, biotech, Industry 4.0, smart mobility, autonomous driving, space tech, web3, digital assets, and data & AI. Luxembourg’s position as a prominent space-economy hub is highlighted by its investment in space tech.

Luxembourg is small but substantial

We have previously stated that Luxembourg excels in tech beyond its size. The country’s R&D grants covering up to 80% of costs, its English-speaking workforce, and its proximity to Brussels are key factors.
