Donald Trump speaking to the press about his controversial $400 million White House ballroom project in the midst of a noisy construction background was bound to provide ample material for late night comedy — and in the monologue above, Jimmy Kimmel capitalizes on it.
The host has a selection of absurd moments to highlight, from Trump describing it as “a very complex building” and claiming “the roof also goes down into the basement” to the spectacle of the president’s poster boards being swept away by the wind.
“Can you imagine the Iranians watching that this morning?” Kimmel wonders. “Minutes before his deadline to bomb them, he’s showing off blueprints for the new dance floor where he’ll cha-cha to ‘YMCA’. If he weren’t so clueless, it might be scheming. But it isn’t. He’s clueless.”
