Spotify to Reserve Concert Tickets for ‘Real Fans’

Spotify is launching a new “Reserved” program, offering Premium users a chance to secure concert tickets for bands on tour. Aimed at “real fans,” the program determines eligibility based on streams, shares, and other Spotify activity, verifying legitimacy by monitoring Premium users to ensure they are not bots. Selected fans can purchase two tickets within a dedicated window. While users will receive email and app notifications if selected, Spotify warns there are more superfans than available seats. The program begins this summer in the US, with plans to expand to more markets. Spotify assures there are no additional fees for tickets bought through Reserved.
