‘Continue On’ allows you to begin tasks on your phone and resume them elsewhere.
Google is introducing a feature on Android similar to Apple’s Handoff, enabling users to start tasks on their Android phones and continue on a compatible tablet. “Continue On” initially supports task transfers from smartphones to tablets, showing the most recent phone app on an Android tablet’s dock if also installed on the tablet. It enables direct document access or immediate switch to the last open email, and may open a relevant web page on the tablet’s browser for web-based tasks. This feature will be tested in Android 17’s RC1 build, but the release date and support for tablet-to-mobile transfers are undisclosed. This, in conjunction with Android-powered Googlebook laptops, signifies potential advancements in Android’s inter-device functionality.
