How to play Pips:
If you’ve played dominoes, you’ll have a basic understanding of Pips. In our previous hints stories for Pips, the tiles, like dominoes, are placed vertically or horizontally to connect. The main difference from traditional dominoes is the color-coded conditions to address. The connecting tiles don’t always have to match.
The conditions specific to the color-coded spaces require attention. For instance, if a single number is provided, each side of a tile in that space must sum up to that number. It’s common for only half a tile to be within a color-coded area.
Common examples across difficulty levels include:
– Number: All pips in the space must add up to the number.
– Equal: Every domino half in the space must share the same number of pips.
– Not Equal: Every domino half in the space must have distinct numbers of pips.
– Less than: Every domino half in the space must total less than the number.
– Greater than: Every domino half in the space must total more than the number.
If an area lacks color coding, there are no conditions on the domino portions within those spaces.
