You can now entrust your spending to ChatGPT—if that’s what you prefer. OpenAI has announced a new personal finance experience within ChatGPT, allowing Pro users in the U.S. to connect their financial accounts via Plaid. This feature helps users analyze monetary data and shared priorities for financial planning. Users can view their portfolios and spending dashboards, aiding in financial goal setting, travel spending analysis, investment risk assessment, and subscription reviews. Although ChatGPT can access financial data for analysis, users can disconnect accounts, remove financial memories, or use temporary chats excluded from history. Pro users can link accounts with thousands of institutions through web or iOS, with future integration planned for Intuit’s TurboTax, Credit Karma, and QuickBooks. OpenAI reported that ChatGPT is already utilized by 200 million people monthly for financial management tasks.
