Galaxy S26 Ultra represents the most comprehensive flagship variant of the Galaxy S26 lineup, incorporating an S Pen stylus and a unique Privacy Display function, yet it holds the title of the most pricey, commencing at $1,299.99. As per Counterpoint Research’s market assessment for Q1 2026, Samsung’s lower-end Galaxy A smartphones surpassed the sales of the Galaxy S26 Ultra in that timeframe.
The analysts noted that the Galaxy S26 Ultra “just missed out on the top 10 ranking.” The top tier, dominated by three iPhone 17 series devices, included five additional Samsung models such as the Galaxy A07, Galaxy A17 5G, Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy A17 4G. The sales results for Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra may appear unexpected, but they are not uncommon. This marks yet another year in which Samsung’s flagship models have not outperformed the more budget-friendly Galaxy A series.
Counterpoint Research further indicated that the Galaxy A16 and Galaxy A06 outsold the Galaxy S25 Ultra in Q1 2025. The Galaxy S24 Ultra stood out as an exception, placing above the Galaxy A15, Galaxy A54, Galaxy S24, and Galaxy A05 the previous year. In Q1 2023, the Galaxy S23 Ultra was positioned sixth in the same top 10, while the Galaxy A13 series came in fifth place. This top 10 also featured the Galaxy A04e, Galaxy A14 5G, and Galaxy A53. Counterpoint Research disclosed data for April 2022 that revealed the Galaxy S22 Ultra was the leading Samsung Android device during that month, without providing a report for Q1 of that year. In Q1 2021, the Galaxy S21 Ultra did not make the top 10.
