the Trippie app and Trunkster. Another standout product was Coolpeds, an electric briefcase scooter that offers a swift and convenient method to navigate with a sizable bag. As per creator Tony Chan, the scooter was foldable, weighed merely 11 pounds, and could achieve speeds of up to 15 miles per hour.

Coolpeds made its debut in “Shark Tank” Season 9, Episode 23, which aired in April 2018. Chan sought $250,000 in exchange for 5% of the company, reporting sales of $500,000 over 18 months. Immediately, the Sharks were captivated by the product itself. Kevin O’Leary even took it for a spin around the set. However, the scooter wasn’t the sole product Chan was pitching to the Sharks — he also introduced the Ampere, an electric sports car, which he claimed was a revolutionary vehicle.

Soon enough, the Sharks began to spot concerns with Coolpeds, including doubts regarding airlines permitting the device and confusion over merging the scooter and sports car into a single business, prompting Robert Herjavec (a car enthusiast and racer) to advise Chan to choose one. Ultimately, Coolpeds departed without any offers, unlike another scooter, Sway Motorsports, which secured a deal in Season 6 (although it seems it never finalized).
