One new tool is available today.
At the Google I/O developers conference on Tuesday, Google introduced several new Chrome features. They include tools to identify AI-generated content and deepfakes in the world’s most popular web browser.
Google’s digital AI watermarking, SynthID, will be added to Chrome soon. SynthID can verify AI-generated content in images, videos, and audio files. Google’s partners OpenAI, Kakao, and ElevenLabs are also integrating SynthID into their content.
In addition, Chrome will gain content credential verification through the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) for monitoring AI-modified content in the browser.
Later this summer, Chrome users can use Google’s new Gemini Spark personal AI agent. This AI works continuously in the cloud via Gemini 3.5 Flash, eliminating the need for a local device. Spark will debut in beta for Google AI Ultra subscribers next week.
Finally, users can now attach Chrome tabs to queries in Google’s updated AI-powered Search box, also using Gemini 3.5 Flash, available wherever AI Mode is enabled.
