Apple has announced that the purchase of discounted MacBooks through its Education Store will now require verification to confirm the buyer is a student or teacher. Previously, discounts were available based on an honor system. As of this week, Apple mandates proof of enrollment or employment at a qualifying educational institution, with verification handled by Unidays. This policy applies to current and newly accepted college students and their parents, as well as faculty, staff, and homeschool teachers. Verification may be instant but can take up to 24 hours for some users. Additional Apple Watch discounts are also available in the Education Store. Without these discounts, users may find better deals through retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy.
