I’m conflicted about Dyson’s Spot + Scrub Ai robot vacuum and mop. While it’s the company’s best robotic cleaner yet, featuring excellent mopping, efficient navigation, and an impressive docking station, it lacks a genuine Dyson vacuum motor, offering a third-party alternative instead. For $1,200, its underwhelming vacuum performance is noticeable compared to its predecessors. The device combines Dyson’s technology with third-party systems, predominantly featuring Dyson’s cyclonic dock, roller mop system, and AI stain detection. My dilemma? Reviewing a Dyson robot whose vacuum power isn’t up to par. Ultimately, it performs decently on hard floors and basic carpets, shining more as a mopping device. Its AI navigation is vastly superior to earlier models, but its cumbersome size makes it unsuitable for all homes. While Dyson’s collaboration aims to keep pace with Chinese competitors, the outsourcing has impacted its performance, limiting its potential as a standout product. For all-purpose use, there are better alternatives available.
