Lovable, an AI-driven app development platform, has invested in Atech, a Danish hardware startup aiming to introduce “vibe coding” into hardware creation. Lovable participated in an $800,000 pre-seed round with a16z’s scout fund, Sequoia Scout Fund, and Nordic Makers.

Gustav Hugod, Atech’s head of customer experience, explained to TechCrunch that the platform operates simply. Users purchase a starter hardware kit from Atech’s website, then use an AI chatbot to describe their hardware concept. The AI then generates code to help build a working prototype. Hugod mentioned the diverse user base includes everyone from children building toy cars to industries requiring precise voltage sensing for hydrogen synthesis plants.

Traditionally, developing hardware prototypes demands years of expertise or hiring costly engineers. However, Hugod believes as software accessibility has improved, so will the ease of hardware development. He stated, “Hardware, in a democratized world, has to be available to everyone.” The funding will be allocated to research and development, marketing, and recruitment.
