“Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” is the first major movie this summer. Fans should expect action, cuteness, and nods to other Star Wars titles. Surprisingly, Martin Scorsese plays a role in this spin-off.
In the credits, Scorsese’s name appears after Pedro Pascal, who stars as Mando. However, fans of Scorsese’s films must wait until Act Two for his role.
What is Martin Scorsese’s role in “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu”?
The Mandalorian, played by Pedro Pascal, teams up with Martin Scorsese’s character.
Mando is on a mission to rescue Rotta the Hutt, the son of Jabba, played by Jeremy Allen White. He seeks the help of a four-armed street vendor voiced by Scorsese, who provides key information with a New York attitude.
Two months ago, some fans recognized Scorsese’s voice in the trailer.
His character’s name is Hugo Durant, possibly inspired by Scorsese’s film “Hugo” and the character Rio Durant from “Solo: A Star Wars Story.” Both are voiced by directors, as Jon Favreau voiced Rio.
