Meta Introduces Virtual Writing for All with Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses

Meta is enhancing its Meta Ray-Ban Display smart glasses with new features, including the ability for all users to write messages using hand gestures. This feature will be compatible with WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and native messaging on Android and iOS. Initially showcased but unavailable at launch, the feature leverages a neural wristband and was released in early access for WhatsApp and Messenger in January. Additional upgrades include “display recording” for capturing videos combining lens display, real-world views, and ambient audio. Walking directions are now available across the US and in major cities like London and Paris. Live captions will be accessible in WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram voice messages. Developers can also create apps for the smart glasses in developer preview, including web app deployment.
