Similar to the original Connections, the game involves finding “common threads between words.” Like Wordle, Connections resets after midnight with increasingly tricky sets of words. What is Connections: Sports Edition?
The NYT’s latest daily word game, in association with The Athletic, tests sports knowledge. It requires grouping four words with something in common. Each puzzle has 16 words divided into four categories. While multiple words seem to fit together, there’s only one correct answer. Correct guesses remove the words from the board; wrong guesses count as mistakes, with a limit of four. Players can shuffle the board and use color-coded clues (yellow for easiest, then green, blue, and purple) like Wordle to share results socially.
